A New Leaf...

I'm trying something new with this blogging thing. I'm going to try to actually "blog" more. What I mean is, try to write more and not simply post pictures of my absolutely gorgeous child. Don't worry, those will still be in abundance, but I think you'll see more posts with more text than you're used to. I'm also working on re-vamping my blog layout, I'm working on getting away from the standard template and designing a unique layout, we'll see how that goes. If things start looking weird, bare with me. Anyway.

I'm living by the phone this weekend, as I am on call. I did something I have never done in the almost 2 years I've worked for the Arkansas State Police. I slept through a call. And by "a call" I mean more like 8 actual phone calls. Yah, this is serious business. About a year or so ago we disconnected our home land line phone because we simply did not use it enough to justify spending that money every month on top of our cell phone bill, so we went to solely cell phones. So now, when I'm on call they have 3 ways to reach me. My personal cell, my work cell and my pager. I always take these with me to the bedroom when I head to bed. Except last night I forgot to, I left them in my purse, which I left in the living room. As if that was not bad enough, my personal cell was on vibrate and my work cell was on silent and my pager wasn't even on. I woke up this morning at 8:30am and immediately remembered I had not brought my phones with me, in a slight panic, but not really, I asked BJ to get the phones for me and he walked back and said I had like 8 missed calls. I thought he was just trying to scare me, but he wasn't. I really did. The hotline had called each phone twice or more, my boss had called each phone and another agency's on call person had called me a couple of times. I thought, "this is it, I've lost my job, I'm fired."

It was something that had to be taken care of last night (actually the wee hours of the morning), but fortunately it got worked out, but my boss was not entirely pleased with me when I called him back at 8:30 this morning. All well. I'm not the first one to ever do it, but it was scary.

Jordan is still not feeling great, she's been exceptionally fussy this weekend, needing to be held a lot, and sometimes that doesn't even help. She'll play for like a minute and out of no where, just start crying, this sad pathetic cry. I can't wait for Monday for the ENT appointment. I'm nervous but excited to have my baby feeling better.

She has graduated out of her infant seat into a big rear facing toddler like seat, not sure what they are really called, but it's big and when she's a year we can just turn it around. She'll be 10 months next week, I can hardly believe it. Seems impossible.

So excited about seeing your new blog! I can't wait to read all the exciting and scandelous news you will post! : ) Oh... and about the phone thing, I have done that, but with the alarm clock. Turned it off.... Late for work once last year. Terrible business... I feel your pain!

Who are using to redo your layout? I would love to switch over to wordpress, but I don't want to pay for anything. What was that address you used to get your skins?
