We're Home!

Well, it's been a crazy couple of days!! BJ has been having some health problems on and off now for about a year. I'll spare you the gorey details, but basically he would randomly have a couple of days where he couldn't keep any food or liquids down. We've been to the doctor a couple times for it, and given meds each time. Last month we went in and I specifically said to the doctor that I thought it was an ulcer. He told me he didn't think so. For the record, I do love our doctor, for the most part.

Well he had another spell that started on Saturday. This time he had a high horizontal pain going across his upper abdomen. I knew that this was indicative of a gallbladder attack because I had mine removed 8 years ago for severe stones. So he was pretty much out of it all weekend and couldn't keep anything down. We went into the doctor's office on Monday. He drew blood, etc...and sent us across town for an ultra sound. The ultrasound showed POLLYPS in his gallbladder. Okay, so he said he would schedule him for surgery in a couple weeks. Keep in mind here that my husband is in pretty severe pain.

So we get some scripts, percoset for pain, and some antibiotics and anti-nausea medicine. We head home he takes his stuff and a few hours later, far beyond where the pain meds should have kicked in, he was in worse pain than before!

So we headed to the ER. Long story short, they did a CTscan, found a thickness in his stomach that they checked out during this gallbladder surgery and found, what? ULCERS! They're treating the ulcers with meds and said that it should heal.

So we were at the hospital from about 9pm Monday night until about 3:30pm today. It has been a long couple of days!!

BJ is doing well now, he feels much better and had a solid meal for lunch and kept it down very well!! He's relaxing in the recliner as I type this. He desperately wants me to post a picture of his incisions, but I have declined--as it may gross some of you out, lol.

Jordan did extremely well, considering. She stayed with her grandma and grandpa a couple nights and was with us most of the day at the hospital. She is glad to be home! Poor girl was so worried about her daddy!!! It was really precious how worried she was about him. I felt so bad that she didn't understand. But, she was really excellent!!

So anyway, I would have updated from the hospital, but NO Wi-Fi! I was not happy, esp bc I was looking forward to being able to update from there when I had the baby--but nooooo.....

Anyway, I hope everyone's week is going well and you have a fun-filled Holiday weekend coming up!!

Oh, Brandy! I had no idea! Poor B.J. I can imagine he was in some horrible, horrible pain. Bless his heart. It sounds like he was a trooper through it all. I'm glad he is relaxing now. Let me know if I can help. I'll come by and make a "big" salad! Ha, ha! : )

Glad he's feeling better and that you have an answer to what's been ailing B.J.

My parents live in Eastern Arkansas, about an hour south of Memphis. It's the armpit of Arkansas! :)

Hi Brandy. I am a friend of Catherine Wilson's, and she pointed me in your direction for help on my blog. You did such a wonderful job on hers, and I was wondering if you could help me out. I am looking for something fun and super cute. Thanks so much! :-)

You failed to mention that Jordan was also taken care of by her favorite uncle. lol. The 2 mornings I had her I ran late because I wasn't really thinking it would be that hard. But it really is. I would get ready to go and then i'm like oh yea i got another person to get ready. So i was running late my 2 days and honestly it wore me out a little bit. But it was fun I love my niece so much. Can't wait to have my own kids now!!! haha in like forever.
