Jordan's Halloween Costume....a preview..

Just a preview....here's what she'll be!

Tagged!

My good friend Jessica tagged me on this quiz...

The Game of Tag about your MAN:

1. Who is your man? BJ (or Bryan, depends on how you know him)

2. How long have you been together? 4 years

3. How long did you date? Dated 3 moths, engaged almost a year, married for 3.

4. How old is your man? 26

5. Who eats more? I can put away some food, but he definetly eats more.

6. Who said "I love you" first? I did. In the living room of my townhouse just after he'd moved all my heavy stuff into my new own place! We had been dating for a little over a month.

7. Who is taller? Neither of us are very tall, but he's got me beat.

8. Who sings better? BJ, he'd swear he can't , but I've heard him and he does ok. Me, can't carry a tune in a bucket and everyone I know can attest to that fact!

9. Who is smarter? I think we are both smarter in different ways.

10. Whose temper is worse? Definitely mine. I can loose it easily. He has a very calm deemeaner and rarely gets riled up.

11. Who does the laundry? He does. He hates the way I do it.

12. Who takes out the garbage? BJ

13. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Right side, if you're laying in it, BJ, if you're looking at the bed, Me.

14. Who pays the bills? I used to, until about a month or two ago. I handled our money, but just recently handed it over to BJ. We still kind of tag team on this though.

16. Who mows the lawn? BJ, again, he won't let me.

17. Who cooks dinner? Whoever feels like it.

18. Who drives when you are together? BJ, he hates the way I drive. lol.

19. Who pays when you go out? BJ physically pays, but we don't have separate accts.

20. Who is most stubborn? We are both pretty stubborn.

21. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Since we're both pretty stubborn, this is a toss up.

22. Whose parents do you see the most? His. His mom keeps Jordan so we see them twice a day during the week and usually once on the weekend.

23. Who kissed who first? He kissed me first. It was like in the movies, I can remember it so well. I had just climbed out of his jeep wrangler in my parents driveway after our second date. I climbed down and started to walk up the hill. He was somewhere to my left. He grabbed my hand, pulled me back, into him and planted one on me!

24. Who asked who out? BJ gave me his phone number and said "call me if you want to hang out sometime." I called and he invited me to something.

25. Who proposed? We had talked about getting married together, but he's the one who got the ring and got down on one knee!

26. Who is more sensitive? I think we both are, but I probably am more.

27. Who has more friends? We prob have about the same.

28. Who has more siblings? BJ has two brothers. I have a sister and a brother.

29. Who wears the pants in the family? Probably me, but we are partners and we decide things together and I never buck him or his decisions.

I tag Ashley.

Throwback Thursday

This is my maternal grandmother. Her name was Mitchalene Rene Jordan before she was married and Rister after she married my grandfather. Jordan is named after her. She was a beautiful woman and I loved her very very much. She died when I was pretty young, but I have always had very fond memories of her. My mom thinks she is the reason I have an obsession for Reba. My grandmother was a natural red head and so my mom thinks that has something to do with my thing for Reba. I don't know if it does or not. Anyway, She was a sweet lady and I wish I could have known her as an adult. I can't wait to see her in Heaven.

Emotions of Motherhood....

So I've been crying off and on all week and today spent most of the evening in utter pain! My mother-in-law has been thinking of getting a job and working instead of watching Jordan. She has been speculating about it for about a week and had a couple of interviews and has been offered a job. She doesn't WANT to stop watching Jordan, but I guess she needs to have more gainful employment than the meager wage we pay her. Which I understand. Unfortunately this creates a HUGE stressor for me. I have absolutely LOVED having Jordan with her grandma while we work. Jordan has enjoyed it as well. It takes away any worry I have of her not being cared for properly.

Because I spend my days looking at children who have been abused in some fashion, it is indescribably hard for me to entertain the idea of a stranger, or even someone I barely know caring for my child. It is just not an option for me at this point. My mother-in-law told me today that she is going to work next week for one week to see how she likes the job, which is what the employer proposed because she was hesitant to take it. So I’m perplexed as to what to do next week and the weeks thereafter if she decides to stick with it.

My options are: 1-Find a day care with an opening that I can afford that is conveniently located between home and work, while I worry for 8 hours a day 5 days a week that my child is not being properly cared for. 2-BJ quits work and stays home with Jordan, continuing to work his part time job in the evening and attend classes online, somewhat stressing our finances. 3-Quit my job and sell my house, live in a trailer, get food stamps and live off the state.

Since none of these options are what I want, I don’t know what I’m going to do. We are leaning towards #2. But we’ll see.

Anyway, I’d appreciate your prayers on this matter. Selfishly, I’d like for my mother-in-law to keep watching Jordan, but that is selfish and well, ya know. Ok, I’m crying again so I’m going to go. Please pray for us.

Kittens!

We have kittens. They are adorable! We have four and as soon as they are able, they are going to be given away, so if you want one, let me know!! We have a white male, a white female, a grey male and a grey female. The white male is already claimed. Any others though, let me know! They're really precious!

Throwback Thursday--Western Edition!

We had horses when I was younger. I loved having horses. We rode in the rodeo parade and probably other functions, but the rodeo is the only thing I remember. We moved to town when I was still pretty young and we didn't have a place for them, so we got rid of them, but it was a blast while it lasted! My mom is on her horse here, his name was Walk-A-Way. My pony had a name, but for the life of me, I can't recall, it was something like 'midnight' or 'starlight', because it was black and it had a white diamond on it's head in between it's eyes, which is hard to see in this picture, but it was there. Anyway, I was a little cowgirl :-)

Modeling my hat!

BJ is also modeling his coyboy hat!

And....probably the most Western thing of all, Square Dancing!! BJ danced his whole life growing up, and when he got too old to dance, he became a caller. He has called every year since he was not eligible to dance (which is after you graduate high school). He always calls at least one group, usually he has 2 or 3. This year, he took a break, but he missed it terribly and I feel sure he'll call again next year. I can't wait until Jordan is old enough to square dance!

The best people!

I work with some of the greatest people on the planet. It's one of the major things that makes my job tolerable. These people are the nicest, most genuine, passionate people I know. They care about what we do and strive to do the best work possible and know how to have fun on the side! Having fun together is what keeps us sane!! In this picture, Jordan had gotten ahold of Casey's earring and did not want to let go! We were just getting into position for a group picture and the picture taker decided it would make a good one....and I agree!!

11 months...

Jordan is 11 months old today. I can't even believe that in ONE month she will turn a year old. Where has the time gone? Sometimes it's hard for me to imagine being pregnant, because that either seems like it was an eternity ago or that it never really happened. Like she has just always been here. Does that make senese? Probably not.

Anyway, I've been thinking a lot about her lately, probably because I was away from her for what seemed like a whole year. When I returned it made the time with her sweeter. Not that it wasn't sweet before, but it made me realize just how sweet it really is. She's doing the most adorable and smart things these days. You can ask her where her nose and her eye are and she will show you. She points to everything. She has this huge bouncy ball that is as big as she is that she carries all over the house and it can be at the opposite end of the house, no where in her sight and you can tell her to "go get her big ball" and she will go get it and bring it back. Genius, I know. She can do a flip. Her daddy, the gymnastics and cheerleader instructor taught her how to do a flip. I've been trying to get a video of it to blog, but have not been successful yet, she's camera shy. She puts her little head down on the carpet when we say "do a flip." We help her over, but it is the MOST adorable thing I have EVER seen! Yes, I am partial.

She frequently shakes her head "no" even though I don't think she fully understands what it means yet. She is just adorable, there is simply no other way to put it. Her hair is getting really long in the back and really starting to curl a lot! I hope they stay! We are gradually moving off of formula, praise Jesus! A gallon of milk is far less expensive than a can of formula! She is doing good with milk so far. She almost completely off baby food, as she has 6 full teeth and has for several months now. Pretty sure she's trying to get some back teeth too. Anyway, she LOVES mac n' cheese, mashed potatoes and pinneapples. Just to name a few. She feeds herself really well, with her hands of course. She's starting to learn how to use a spoon, which is fun. She does this "mean look," which I posted before. She does it on cue now, it's pretty funny. She can be laughing hysterically and you say "Jordan, do the mean look," and she'll go from laughing to the mean look, then back to laughing. Anyway, essentially, she is the smartest, cutest, most wonderful baby there ever was! :-)

Jordan's 1st Fair!

Too Cool!!
